Ground-breaking news

We are pleased to report our progress-to-date at Ponders End Park!

We broke ground on Monday the 6th of January making a start on our underground pipe network in Ponders End. This first phase consists of laying the highly insulated underground pipes between Electric Quarter and the New Alma Estate via South Street which will form the Ponders End Heat Network. This initial phase is expected to be finished by October 2020. Electric Quarter and Alma Road housing developments currently receive heat and hot water from our temporary plant, the permanent energy centre located on Alma Road is expected to be completed later in 2020.

Upon completion, these pipelines will permanently supply customers living in the Ponders End area with low cost, low carbon and extremely efficient heat by using the highest standard insulation and smart in-house technology. The Ponders End Heat Network is a great step towards supporting Enfield Council achieve its 2030 carbon neutral commitment and aligns with objectives to improve air quality and to end fuel poverty locally.
