What are the works for?
We’re installing high-capacity underground pipework across Enfield to form a heating super-highway. In the future branches will be added to supply residents across Enfield with heating and hot water from Energetik’s near zero carbon energy centre at the Edmonton Eco- Park. This will help decarbonize heating and hot water in tens of thousands of homes in the borough, as part of Enfield’s wider net-zero ambitions. In order to achieve this, we will install pipework in the ground that we expect will never have to be revisited until the end of its useful life at the turn of the next century.
How will the works be delivered?
Whilst we appreciate that any road disruption can cause inconvenience, we have designed the route to minimise disruption, including maintaining existing bus routes, adequate access for all local residents, and for the majority of the route, we will maintain a two way traffic flow as normal. The works will be delivered in short 50m-100m sections, which will result in some parking bays being suspended as the works move along Hertford Road. The work areas will be segregated by suitable fencing to ensure a safe working area for the work force and provide a safe route for the public at all times.
We have notified the local community living in the immediate area by way of letter to all properties along the length of the streets affected and into adjoining streets. For those outside of this local delivery area, the advanced warning notices, have been put up to advise those passing through. For information on each section, please see more information below, and on the Enfield Council’s website: https://www.enfield.gov.uk/services/roads-and-transport/road-works.

We have successfully completed works on Hertford Road N9 up to Bury Street. The next phase will take place from 23rd July to 30th August 2025, scheduled to coincide with the school summer holidays.
This phase will require a northbound closure of Hertford Road N9 between Monmouth Road and Bury Street.
A diversion route will be in place for northbound traffic on Hertford Road N9, including a separate route for affected bus services (see Figure 1). We understand this may cause frustration and apologise in advance for any inconvenience. Our team is available to assist with any concerns throughout the works.

Proven Project Construction has been appointed by Enfield Council’s energy company, Energetik, to install and extend the existing district heating network from Ediswan Way to Heron Hall Academy.
The installation will begin on July 28th for a duration of two weeks outside the school grounds. These new branches will provide the Academy with heating and hot water sourced from Energetik’s near-zero carbon energy center at the Edmonton Eco-Park. This initiative aims to decarbonise heating and hot water for tens of thousands of homes in the borough, contributing to Enfield’s broader net-zero goals.
