Energetik is celebrating four years in operation!

“We’re extremely pleased with our achievements to date – we have successfully welcomed hundreds of customers on to our networks and we’re on track to become one of the largest heat networks in the UK.”

Four years ago this month, we welcomed our very first customer! Since then, the business has thrived, receiving additional funding to become one of the largest heat networks in the UK. We continue to welcome new customers annually across our three operating heat networks and work is well underway on our largest, strategic scale heat network at Meridian Water.

Since October 2017…

We’ve overseen the development of three heat networks which we have since adopted and now operate. We now serve over 700 customers across the Arnos grove, Ponders End and Oakwood heat networks. Each of our three ‘satellite’ networks will be connected to our largest heat network at Meridian Water over the next three years, all of which will be served from Energy Centre currently under construction at the Edmonton Eco-park.

We successfully secured two large investments from the Heat Networks Investment Project (HNIP), bringing the total support provided by HNIP to Energetik (via Enfield Council) to just under £39 million, making this scheme the largest to be awarded HNIP funding to date. Read more by clicking here.

We have maintained excellent customer service standards, with our customer satisfaction improving year on year: this year, 91% of customers found our customer service to be excellent, good or had no concerns to report*. *Survey conducted in June 2021

We also won ‘Domestic’ and ‘Project of the Year’ at the Association of Decentralised Energy (ADE) awards in 2019.

In the past year alone…

We’ve doubled our customer numbers!

We’ve secured our long term low-carbon heat supply with the NLWA and began construction of the main energy centre at Edmonton Eco-Park. Once completed, our energy centre will eventually supply over 30,000+ homes and businesses with very-low carbon heat and hot water, helping to tackle the climate emergency whilst contributing to improving local air quality.

We’ve secured £49m in additional funding to extend our networks across Enfield, future proofing local heat infrastructure for decades to come and supporting the Council to

We’ve received grant funding from the GLA to cover an increase in pipe size at Meridian Water to support a bulk supply to Haringey. This funding is part of the Mayor’s Green New Deal that aims to provide economic stimulus for London’s green economy.

We’ve received grant funding from both the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Enfield Council (LBE) to undertake two pilot retrofit schemes in Ponders End. These strategic retrofit trials will provide key insights for future connection opportunities at scale that will provide a promising path towards carbon reductions throughout the UK.
